Copyright takedown

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Reporting copyright infringement

riggr respects the intellectual property of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content posted by another user on riggr infringes your copyright, you can submit a takedown notice. We'll review it promptly and remove or disable the content if the notice is valid.

What to include in a notice

Your notice must be in writing and include all of the following (these are the requirements under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or, if multiple works, a representative list).
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing — usually the URL on riggr.app where it appears, plus enough detail to let us locate it.
  • Your contact information — name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the way complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of the owner).

Misrepresentations in a DMCA notice can result in liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Don't file a takedown for content you don't actually own the rights to.

Where to send it

riggr's designated DMCA agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.

DMCA Designated Agent — riggr LLC

Email: hello@riggr.app

U.S. Copyright Office Agent ID: DMCA-1072234 · Search the official agent directory for the registered mailing address.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe the takedown was a mistake or misidentification, you can file a counter-notice. Send it to the same designated agent above. Per 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), the counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and phone number, plus consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court covering your address (or, if outside the U.S., the U.S. District Court for the judicial district where riggr is located), and consent to accept service of process from the original complainant.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the original complainant and reinstate the content within 10–14 business days unless they file suit.

Repeat-infringer policy

riggr will terminate accounts that have been the subject of repeated DMCA takedown notices in appropriate circumstances, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(i). The threshold for “repeat infringer” is determined on a case-by-case basis but typically means three valid notices against the same account.
